Registered Nurses<\/h1>\n

Registered nurses (RN) are highly qualified medical professionals who have to deal with many aspects of individual care across different settings such as hospitals, care homes and in the wider community. In order to be employed as an RN in the United Kingdom, you must have a valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). To gain a valid registration you will have to undertake professional education in a chosen area of nursing (adult, child, mental health or learning disability).<\/span><\/p>\n

Nurses are an essential part of the health and social care workforce in the UK with the employment rates to support this need: Data from the NHS shows that 94% of nursing students are employed within their first six months after graduation. Without a doubt, nursing is a rewarding career with many opportunities for progression. For example, once you become a nurse you can specialise by gaining experience through clinical practice to become Clinical Nurse Managers or Modern Matrons or even hold senior nursing positions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Have a minimum of 6 months paid experience at Band 5 level in the last 2 years<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Strong team-working skills<\/span><\/li>\n
  • A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach<\/span><\/li>\n
  • A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate<\/span><\/li>\n
  • A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Desirable:<\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Undertake nursing assessment and evaluation to enable development of appropriate plans of care based on the needs of the individual<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ensure safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and CHS policies<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with HDFTpolicy and NMC guidelines<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Carry out nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Undertake regular mandatory training<\/span><\/li>\n
    • To escalate as required, reporting any incidents\/accidents, and ensuring they are recorded using the appropriate method<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Work closely with local authority colleagues<\/span><\/li>\n
