{"id":13643,"date":"2022-03-02T11:59:09","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T11:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cloudcaresolutions.co.uk\/?p=13643"},"modified":"2022-03-02T13:31:16","modified_gmt":"2022-03-02T13:31:16","slug":"good-news-about-uk-health-and-care-worker-visa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cloudcaresolutions.co.uk\/good-news-about-uk-health-and-care-worker-visa\/","title":{"rendered":"UK Health and Care Worker Visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Changes approved by the Government are set to make thousands of additional care workers from overseas newly eligible for a UK visa.\u00a0 Care workers have been added to the Shortage Occupation List (SOL) in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the role is now eligible for the <strong>Skilled Worker<\/strong> route.<\/p>\n<p>What you need to know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Skilled Worker<\/strong> route is for applicants with a <u>specific job offer from an approved<\/u> <u>sponsoring employer<\/u>. Applicants do not need to hold a formal qualification as it is the skill level of the job they will be doing which is important.<\/li>\n<li>The changes effectively remove the skills threshold for care workers, thus allowing them to qualify for the route.<\/li>\n<li>The following roles have been added to the list of Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes which qualify for a <strong>Health and Care Worker<\/strong> <strong>visa<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>6145 Care workers and home carers plus related eligible job titles: <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Care assistant<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Care worker<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Carer<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Home care assistant<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Home carer<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Support worker (nursing home)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It is important to note that sponsorship from a licenced employer remains an essential requirement for care workers applying for a <strong>Skilled Worker visa<\/strong> under the amended rules.<\/p>\n<p>The cost for a care worker to apply for a <strong>Health and Care Worker visa<\/strong> will be \u00a3232 where a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) is issued for 3 years or less, or \u00a3464 where a CoS is issued for more than 3 years.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst <strong>home carers<\/strong> will be eligible for a <strong>Health &amp; Care Worker visa<\/strong>, they will only be able to be sponsored on the route if they are working for an organisation which is able to meet the sponsorship requirement.\u00a0 In other words, private households and individuals will not be able to sponsor home carers unless they are a <strong>sole trader<\/strong> sponsoring someone to work for their business.<\/p>\n<p>The UK is committed to becoming a high-skilled, high-wage economy and minimum salaries must reflect the professional skills that are required to provide quality care.
