Eligibility

We recognise the difficulties of the application process and are here to help along every step of your journey. In order to have a smooth application process, nurses have to pass the following requirements:

Qualified nurse holding a BSc degree in nursing from a recognised University
Meet the required English proficiency standards (IELTS or OET)
Current clinical experience
Complete the NMC Computer based test (CBT)
Hold a valid and current decision letter from the NMC to appear for Objective Structured Clinical Exam( OSCE)

English Language Requirement

IELTS Score:

Attainment of minimum of overall score of 7 (at least 6.5 in the writing section and at least 7 in the reading, listening and speaking sections.)

OR

OET Score:

At least a C+ grade in the writing, and at least B in reading, listening and speaking sections.

NMC – Joining the Register

You need to pay Qualification Evaluation Cost - £140 (non-refundable) when you submit your eligibility and qualification application.
Once you've submitted your application and paid your evaluation fee, NMC contact your regulator to verify your registration or that your qualification would allow you to register with them in the relevant profession.
If you haven’t registered, NMC will contact your education institution to verify your qualification.
When NMC might need more information or if any of the details you provide are unclear or appear incomplete, or if you or your referee(s) provide conflicting information. NMC will contact you by email.
It will take 14 days to know the evaluation outcome.

CBT

The CBT is a computer based multiple choice exam, which tests your theoretical practice-based knowledge
You can only book your CBT once NMC has told you that you need to take the test of competence - you won’t be able to book before this
You need PRN number to book your CBT exam
You can book your CBT with test provider Pearson VUE. Visit the Pearson VUE website to book your CBT
You can take a maximum of three CBT attempts as part of your application, but need to wait at least 10 days between each sitting.
If you’re not able to pass your CBT on your third attempt, your application will close and you’ll need to start a new application if you would like to continue with your registration.

Successful candidates are sent a conditional offer letter and the application pack via CloudCare or direct to candidates as preferred by employer. Normally within 5 working days to secure candidate
Reference checks can be carried out by CloudCare if preferred in line with Employer Company Policy
After receiving satisfactory reference, the Certificate of Sponsorship (Cos) will be issued by the employer. CloudCare will provide simple guidance and general advice on the visa application. For candidates that need step-by-step guidance on the visa application process and full support with the application form and visa submission, there will be an additional extra cost payable for this service.

Arrival to the UK

CloudCare will engage with the employer and arrange pre-arrival logistics as per the job offer in conjunction with the employer to ensure the process is smooth
CloudCare will provide a welcome pack to candidates and a proposed plan for OSCE training (CBT /OSCE training is included in the fee CloudCare charges as per contract)

OSCE Stage

After 4 to 6 weeks of acclimatization within the organization, CloudCare will meet the candidates to arrange OSCE training dates and also review potential booking of OSCE exam dates.
At this stage, we ensure that any pre OSCE training support is provided to the candidate as required in conjunction with the employer

NMC Registration

Does CloudCare provide assistance with the NMC Registration?

CloudCare will provide guidance and support throughout the application and can also communicate with NMC on your behalf.

Which IELTS Certification is required and the validity of IELTS?

NMC accepts academic IELTS certificates and not general IELTS certificates. – 2 YEARS

What is the accepted IELTS Score for NMC Registration?

NMC accepts IELTS academic certificate that confirms an overall score of 7 and 7 in reading, listening and speaking with at least 6.5 in writing. You can achieve these scores in two sittings within six months and no score less than 6.5.

What is the best accepted OET score?

NMC accepts OET certificate confirming score of at least a C+ grade in the writing, and at least B in reading, listening and speaking sections. This can be also achieved in two sittings within six months. Both times the score should not go below C+ in any of the four modules.

Can CloudCare speak to the NMC on my behalf?

If a third party authorisation is provided at the time of NMC application, CloudCare will be able to communicate to the NMC on a candidates behalf.

What is CBT?

Computer Based Test is one of the tests of competence required by the NMC who are seeking registration in the UK. NMC will start testing candidates with the new Test of Competence from AUGUST2021 onwards.

Can we book the CBT Test even if the IELTS/OET RESULT expired?

Once you start your NMC application process within two years of your IELTS/OET, you will be able to apply for the CBT.

What happens if my CBT IS EXPIRING IN 2 MONTHS?

Candidates are expected to complete their NMC process within two years of CBT result.

How long is the CBT valid for?

You are required to have a valid CBT when appearing for the OSCE examination. There will be special guidance on this considering the current situation.

What is OSCE?

Observed Structured Clinical Examination is the second test of competence in order to be able to work in the UK who are qualified overseas. OSCE can appear only when you have joined your employer in the UK, and the examination is conducted in centres in the UK

The OSCE is made up of ten stations:

Four stations are based around a scenario: the APIE (one station for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
Four stations test practical clinical skills.
Two new stations will be introduced - one will assess the candidate’s values and behaviours and the other will assess evidence-based practice.

The objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) will have 10 stations:

Four stations will continue to be linked together around a scenario: the APIE (one station for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation)
Four stations will test skills

Cloud Care provides OSCE study materials to the candidates before they travel to the UK. This is to make sure nurses prepare for the exam before they arrive in the UK and have a general understanding

Processing Time:

After issuing the offer letter, you will have 4 months’ time to finish your IELTS/OET and CBT to clear before coming to the UK. You will be expected to arrive in the UK within 6 months of the offer letter issue.

Once we’ve confirmed your eligibility to apply for registration, you’ll have two years to complete your registration. This includes taking your CBT and OSCE.

What is the difference between NMC and RCN?

NMC – Nursing and Midwifery Council are the professional regulators for nurses and midwives in the UK. RCN – Royal College of Nursing provides indemnity scheme covers against the financial consequences of a claim against for clinical negligence. You need to be a member of RCN to avail this.

Who pays the health surcharge?

There will be no health surcharge for the Health Care Visa Workers. UK Government scrapped this fee recently.

Can I visit my family in India when I pass OSCE?

Yes, you can. It depends on your annual holidays provided.

I am anxious about covid- what reassurances do you or the employers provide?

All the employers provide PPE and have strict guidelines on social distancing and risk assessments in place for the HealthCare Staff.

What are the career path options for a nurse in the UK?

With experience, you could specialise in a particular field such as intensive care or operating theatre work, or become a nursing sister, ward manager or team leader. You could train as a midwife, neonatal nurse, health visitor, or district or practice nurse. You could also move into management, as a matron or director of nursing. With a postgraduate qualification, you could become an advanced nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist, then a nurse consultant. There are opportunities to go into teaching and research.

Can I bring my family?

Yes, you can bring your family as your dependant if you show enough funds in your bank account to support your family and you need to have a property rental agreement in your name for your family to stay.

How long it will take for CoS?

Usually, it will be 3 to 4 weeks after the successful completion of the interview.

What are the costs I need to bear for the Senior Carer route?

You need to pay for your flights and visa (£232) https://www.gov.uk/health-care-worker-visa/how-much-it-costs Please check the link for the visa application fees and pre requisites before applying for your visa.

Do I need to sign contract with Cloud Care Solutions?

What are the acceptable English tests for Senior Carers?

Passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider UKVI IELTS – You need to score minimum of 4 in all these modules. Listening: 4.0; Speaking: 4.0; Reading: 4.0; Writing: 4.0 (OR) having a degree-level academic qualification that was taught in English - if you studied abroad, you’ll need to apply through Ecctis (formerly UK NARIC) for confirmation that your qualification is equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
